Rules for Broiler Class/ Rate of Gain Contest Class 111202:

This class is only open to exhibitors who reserve/pick-up broilers on the required days, from the Fair.
Orders for birds will open on line February 25 and close at the end of the day April 29. Orders will also be accepted on Discovery Day at the Livestock Barn from 9 am-1 pm. Each exhibitor may order up to 6 birds and show any 3 of the 6 banded birds.
Exhibitors must pick up their birds on Saturday, May 20th at Hamilton’s of Ortonville between 12-4 p.m. You must bring your own box, cage, etc. to transport the birds . The address of Hamilton’s is 465 Mill St., Ortonville, 48462. If birds are not picked up at this time, the exhibitor will forfeit the birds and the money paid. Buying and picking up birds does NOT enter you as an exhibitor in the Fair. An exhibitor MUST enter the Oakland County Fair and pay all exhibitor fees to exhibit.
All birds will be toe punched at pick up by superintendent.
Birds must be verified at Fair weigh in to show in market class.
The broilers must be healthy and able to walk.
Minimum weight at time of check in is 5 pounds per bird.
Birds will be weighed in one time at check in. Once the birds are weighed and sale banded there will be no re-weighing
Proof of hatch date required before show.
