The Oakland County 4-H Fair Association Mission is to provide a public educational showcase of our youth through hands-on experience with exhibits, demonstrations, and presentations as young people develop life skills in a family atmosphere.

When is the Fair?  July 10-15, 2012

What does it cost?   Entrance to the fair including parking is $10.00 per car, $4.00 per person walk-in. Look for discount coupons on this website as well as in advertising flyers and the Oakland Press for additional savings. For entrance fees information for all Main Arena Events click on "Fair" tab and then on "Arena Events" tab located on the main page of this website. 

Are there any additional costs to attend the Fair?   There is so much to see and do at no additional cost at the fair! The only additional costs are for Main Arena Events and the carnival rides. There is a large variety of "fair food" available at extra cost, but you can pack a picnic and eat in the comfort of the large pavilion.  

Are there any discount coupons available for the fair?   Discount tickets are often available at a variety of different outlets. Check back to this website often. Also look for discount coupons in the Oakland Press and several advertising supplements that are sent to most Oakland County residents.           

What is there to see and do at the Fair?   There's "Lions and Tigers and Bears, oh my!" There is so much to see and do at the Fair. There are horses, cattle, sheep, pigs, goats, poultry, dogs, cats, rabbits and so much more. There are exhibits ranging from photography to aerospace and everthing imaginable in between. There is a carnival, free circus, racing pigs, and so many other daily events that we list them on this website. Just click on the home page tab labeled "Fair" to see a complete list of all the daily  and arena events.

Can I camp at Fair and how much does it cost?  Camping is available to all exhibitors and vendors only. Camping fees can be found by clicking on the "Forms" tab on the home page of this website.

Can I register for classes on-line?   Yes. Review the fairbook and complete and submit the registration forms all on-line. 

Can I sign up for volunteering on-line?   Yes. There is a volunteer form under the "Forms" tab on the home page of this website. You can also call the fair office at 248-634-8830 to volunteer. Volunteers are needed for a variety of jobs before, during, and after fair.

What are the volunteer opportunities?   The volunteer opportunities are too numerous to list here. Please click on the "Forms" tab on the home page of this website for more information, or call the fair office at 248-634-8830.

Will I be notified of my volunteer date, time and location?    You have the opportunity to review the various jobs and pick dates and times that you would prefer. When you complete the form or call the office you can include this information regarding your availability and job preferences.

I have questions regarding horses, how do I get them answered?   First, go to the horse section in the fairbook. Most of your questions will be answered there. If you belong to a 4-H Horse Club, you should contact the leader of the club with any remaining questions you may have. If you are a 4-H member you can also contact the Oakland County MSU Extension office at 248-858-0889. You may also contact the horse area superintendant listed in the fairbook. You can always call the fair office at 248-634-8830. 

I have questions regarding Exhibit Hall projects, how do I get them answered?   First, go to the Exhibit Hall section in the fairbook. Most of your questions will be answered there. If you belong to a 4-H Club, you should contact the leader of the club with any remaining questions you may have. If you are a 4-H member you can also contact the Exhibit Hall area superintendant listed in the fairbook. You can always call the fair office at 248-634-8830. 

I have questions concerning the entry of livestock, how do I get them answered?   First go to the appropriate livestock section in the fairbook. Most of your questions will be answered there. If you belong to a 4-H Club, you should contact the leader of that club with any remaining questions you may have. If you are a 4-H member you can also contact the Oakland County MSU Extension office at 248-858-0889. You may also contact the livestock area superintendant listed in the fairbook.
